As with any race or event with a large number of participants, your help is needed in following instructions and scheduled times.

The Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is located a few miles south Chattanooga. You should allow at least 35 minutes from downtown to travel to the Park. As you enter the Park, you will see event signage on the road sides directing you to event Parking & Start. Please adhere to all traffic signs and speed limits, and heed the instructions from Park Rangers and volunteers. The signs will direct you to event Parking in the recreation filed close to the Wilder Tower in the Park's southwest corner.

Parking will be directed by Park Rangers and volunteers. Please follow their directions to your parking spot. Lock your car, and take your keys with you! Allow yourself another 10 minutes to walk to the event staging area and start in the field below the Wilder Tower.

Day of Race Registration begins at 7:00 AM Eastern Time

Please be aware that the event is conducted outdoors, with no shelter available for participants and spectators. The event tents are for race personnel and registration only. Be prepared for all types of weather! If you register on race day, you are responsible for your own race packet, there is no storage at the staging area.

There will be an on-site Emcee announcing race related details beginning at 7:00 AM. Please listen closely for any last minute announcements.

Port-o-lets are located at the staging area. You know the drill, long lines, etc. Whether you gotta go or not, the race will begin promptly at 8:30 AM Eastern Time.

Begin moving to the starting line no later than 8:00 AM

The Emcee will begin directing participants to the starting line at about 8:00 AM. Please get moving early, and take your place at the start line according to your expected per mile pace placards. Walkers and Kiddie K'ers should move to the very back of the starting pack.

Presentation of Color and pre-race instructions begin at 8:25 AM

All participants must be positioned at the starting line by this time. Spectators please keep clear of the race course in front of the starting line.

Gun-shot Race Start at 8:30 AM

At the sound of a musket shot by a Civil War reenactor, The Chickamauga Chase will begin promptly at 8:30 AM. The simulataneous start for the 15k, 5k, and Scenic Walk makes for tight going in the first few hundred yards. We ask that you be courteous and careful, and you can help by lining up according to pace. Kiddie K'ers do not start at the gunshot, and will be held for their start for just a few minutes behind the other events.

Kiddie K finishers begin arriving at the finish line about 8:40 AM

5K finishers begin arriving at the finish line about 8:45 AM, continuing though about 9:10AM.

15k finishers begin arriving at the finish line about 9:20 AM, depending on the rabbit!

Post race awards ceremony begins at 10:15 AM, 5k awards first.
